Jim serves as the vice president for mission ministries which is the mission- sending arm of The Mission Society. His includes the departments of mobilization and candidacy, field ministry, and member care. He provides strategic oversight of these departments as well as working with missionary leadership and with international partners. He serves on the president’s leadership team and as the staff liaison to the ministries committee of the board of directors. Jim and his wife Shawn served with The Mission Society for 10 years in Kazakhstan, where he held roles of field leader for the mission team, director of a private school for local children, and instructor in the seminary the team established there. He worked closely with a church plant, discipling young leaders. He also served as the regional coordinator for The Mission Society’s work in Asia. Prior to serving as a missionary, Jim worked as a systems programmer for a mid-sized company in Danville, Kentucky, and then served 10 years as their manager of information systems. In 2006, the Ramsays moved to Atlanta from Kazakhstan, and Jim assumed the role of senior director of eld ministries. He continued in that capacity until assuming his current vice president role in 2011.
